Biography

Bob Carroll was born in Bronxeville, Ny on June 9th, 1987. He moved to Stratford, CT when he was 5. It was there, when he was in High School that he met his mentor James Miller. Miller showed Bob the basics of drumming and was part of the driving force in shaping Bob's talent.

While in high school Bob played in the marching band as well as the indoor drumline. There he worked on his chops and greatly excelled at anything he tried.

He also joined a ska band: Three Years Accident Free. Throughout the next year and a half they played shows and recorded songs. They released an EP: "Shortstacked" and an LP: "Trivial Pursuits." They became pretty popular through the ska scene in Connecticut. They broke up in 2005 and four of the members(including Bob) formed a band: The Semi-Naked Entertainment Squad.

SNES was a cornucopia of influences ranging from Bach to Jamiroquai. Together they fused progressive rock, disco and classical. They shortly went on hiatus because of all the members going to different colleges. They released an EP: Raising The Airship and were recording more songs when they went on hiatus.

Bob then played with The Cutoff Frequency. They were a Synthesized Power/Pop/Punk band. They made it to the finals of The Space's Battle of the Bands and almost won! They recorded their first EP: "The Frequency of Love" which was a blend of several different genres. They found their sound when they released their LP: "Back to the Underpass" on Open Hand Records. Sadly the members have gone their separate ways shortly after its release.

During his last year at college he joined Surrender the Arms. They were a progressive rock group that played frequent shows. Surrender The Arms recorded a few songs during the winter of 2009 for a demo cd, those recordings are the lost recordings of Surrender the Arms. Due to scheduling conflicts they disbanded shortly before Bob's graduation.

Bob is now playing with the Greg N Deb Band and is teaching online drum lessons through Ashbury Music Hall. .
